CSTA AI in Action Series:
Discover practical, classroom-ready strategies from experienced educators as they share approaches aligned with key CSTA priorities. This multi-part series highlights a different focus area in each session, offering guidance you can apply across grade levels and subject areas. You’ll learn how to integrate new tools and practices, build literacy and ethical understanding into your curriculum, and explore proven, ready-to-use lessons. Whether you’re new to the topic or looking to deepen your practice, you’ll leave with actionable ideas and resources you can implement right away.
This series is comprised of two remaining sessions:
National AI Literacy Night with Josiah Hester from AI for Hawaii:
This is a monthly space for educators working with emerging technologies, CS, and AI in Indigenous communities to slow down, connect, and learn from one another. Each gathering centers one person’s work, followed by guided conversation, reflection, and resource sharing.
At our March 25 session, Josiah Hester will be our guest speaker. Josiah is an Associate Professor of Computing at Georgia Tech and Executive Director of the Ulu Lāhui Foundation, a Native Hawaiian–led nonprofit advancing food sovereignty and climate resilience through ʻāina-based, community-centered technology and educational programming. His work focuses on sustainable computing broadly, including low-power, edge AI systems that support local agriculture and environmental stewardship. Register here.
NEA Partners with Microsoft to Offer AI Microcredentials:
We’re excited to launch our new AI Micro-Credential Stack for K–12 Educators—a practical learning pathway designed to help educators build confidence, skill, and professional judgment when working with artificial intelligence. This initiative is a collaboration between the National Education Association and the Microsoft Elevate Team, bringing together educators' and industry leaders' expertise to support responsible, classroom-centered AI use.
This stack moves beyond tools and trends. It focuses on the competencies educators need right now: recognizing AI’s role and influence across contexts; applying a clear framework to judge AI outputs; examining how predictive systems shape recommendations and limit perspectives; and collaborating with generative AI to refine ideas and reflect on thinking. Featured micro-credentials include Judging AI Outputs: A Framework for Educators, AI Perspectives: Understanding Algorithmic Bias and Echo Chambers, and Collaborate with AI to Refine and Reflect.
Whether you are just beginning or ready to deepen your practice, this stack offers meaningful, classroom-connected learning that strengthens professional judgment and supports student-centered use of AI. Join us in building the knowledge and skills educators need to lead thoughtfully and confidently in an AI-informed world. Explore NEA's Microcredentials.

ISTE+ASCD Community of Practice Cohort 1 Wraps: What Happens When Educators Take the Lead on AI
Across the country, educators in ISTE+ASCD's first cohort of the GenerationAI Community of Practice (CoP), made up of teacher, building, and teacher leaders from across the United States, tackled a shared challenge: how to move AI from buzzword to meaningful practice. Over the course of their cohort experience, participants designed and carried out action research projects rooted in real problems they face every day. Their work reveals both the promise and the complexity of AI integration in K-12 education.
