Scholarship Application Now Open: ISTE+ASCD is launching a new course in late April titled, GenerationAI: Transforming Teaching and Learning. This new 5-hour, self-paced course guides educators through practical applications of AI in teaching and learning. Participants will explore current AI tools, develop
implementation strategies, and learn best practices for enhancing instruction through AI technology. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and will be reviewed on a bi-weekly basis.Learn more and apply today!
Playlab AI Learning Community: Join a diverse community of educators using AI to create meaningful tools for themselves and others. This learning experience includes three 90-minute virtual sessions with the option to also attend Open Labs with fellow community members. Find out more information and apply. Learning About & Teaching with Artificial Intelligence: The National Education Association (NEA) has released a new online course that is offered at no cost to educators. The independent study course, Learning About and Teaching with Artificial Intelligence in Education, explores the foundational concepts of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential educational applications. Educators will learn to integrate AI tools effectively and ethically into teaching, learning, and administrative processes while fostering AI literacy among students. Instagram Announces School Partnership Program
Last year, ISTE+ASCD worked with Meta on a pilot program to give school leaders a more direct role in managing content related to their communities on Instagram. Last month, EdSurge publishedan article written by Richard Culatta, CEO of ISTE+ASCD, discussing how this partnership started and how schools can get involved. In the
article he shares, "One of our key initiative - and one of my personal and professional passions - is helping schools create healthy digital cultures while teaching students how to be upstanding digital citizens." GenerationAI Luminary Award
GenerationAI is seeking to honor educators who have made an impact in their school or district with artificial intelligence. The GenerationAI coalition partners will select 10 award winners who have used AI to transform teaching and learning. Winners will receive free registration and travel expenses for the ISTELive 25 conference, a $500 award, and recognition at a reception at
ISTELive honoring all awardees. Three of the winners will be chosen to present during a GenerationAI session at ISTELive. Apply today! All applications must be received by Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 11:59 PM PST. Winners will be notified no later than May 19, 2025 so that travel can be arranged. Nominees must be a participant in GenerationAI and able to attend the ISTELive 25 conference to be eligible.

Playlab Releases New Open Source Curriculum
Playlab is offering an open source curriculum to empower students to become more critical consumers and more importantly creators of AI
through their "AI for Action" project-based unit. Give your students hands-on experience withPlaylab, a safe environment where they'll develop critical AI literacy while creating their own AI applications. We believe that students play a crucial role in shaping how this arrival technology impacts them and what better way to do that then letting them gets hands on as they learn more about the great potential and risks of Generative AI. ISTE+ASCD AI Innovators Challenge
The ISTE+ASCD AI Innovator Challenge, supported by Lenovo and Intel, invites high school students (grades 9-12) to create a digital product using Generative AI to help their peers and communities use AI responsibly and ethically. The top three teams will be flown to ISTELive 25 in San

AI Innovators Challenge Judges Needed
We are in need of a few more judges for the ISTE+ASCD AI Innovators Challenge! Judging involves two rounds between April 19–28, with each round takingapproximately 2 hours total. You’ll review 5–6 projects and short videos per round, score them using a clear rubric, and provide comments for the committee and feedback to student teams.
